Johnson Street Underground stands out as Winona's premier TTBB (Tenor, Tenor, Baritone, Bass) a cappella group. They have made a name for themselves by performing in and around Winona, covering a diverse range of songs and styles. From the energetic tunes of Green Day to the timeless classics of Dolly Parton, the Beatles, and Adele, their performances are a treat for the ears.Their members bring unique talents and personalities to the group. Matt Schultz, a talented tenor and strong lead, is an elementary Title 1 teacher at Jefferson Elementary School. His smooth vocals pair perfectly with Seth Flatten's lyric tenor. Seth, a customized training rep at Minnesota State College Southeast, adds another layer of harmony. Charlie Opatz, the esteemed baritone, is known for his ability to swap parts with everyone seamlessly. He retired as an academic advisor/career counselor from Winona State. Completing the group is John Chernega, an English teacher, who provides the low notes as the second bass, adding depth and richness to their performances.Each member's contribution is essential in creating the magic of Johnson Street Underground. Their rehearsals are filled with passion and dedication as they strive to bring the best possible performances to their audience.
